The Jack E Up for your TT Tongue Jack

I have needed a way to lower my tailgate without it hitting my tongue jack. After several posts here and long searching for an extension for my drawbar/ball mount I settled on the idea of the Jack E UP.

Now before some of you suggest that there are extensions made keep in mind that my hitch is a 2.5x2.5 Calss V Titan. Extensions are not made for this. Unless you want to decrease to a lesser class 2x2 or less. I didnt want to do that.

So I came across this Jack E up and called up the factory. At present they are only sold at Camping World and according to the owner he cant keep pace with demand. I bought one in Golden CO.

I have used it now for many drops and it works as claimed. Its easy to install and use and storing the Tongue Jack is no big deal. It all works very fast.

There are a few minor issues with it. Primarily it needs another set of bolt circles to allow you to get the handle of your jack clear of interference with other objects. On mine my Propane tanks are very close to the jack handle due to an addition of some welded parts added to the trailer tongue for an anti sway system the previous owner put on that I never use. Because of the keying of the two parts my jack handle does not face forward. I tried moving the "receptor part around it's bolt circle but there is no position that will solve this. The part that is installed on the jack handle is made so it fits in one orientation only into the part that is bolted to the trailer tongue. In other words it's "keyed". But the keying is very subtle and can be easily missed making you try a few times in the beginning to get it together. This is why there needs to be a second set of bolts holes in strategic areas of the base. (which would also require the base plate be thicker.)

Other than this it was a cheap and easy fix for my tailgate problem. At $50 it is worth it. Considering my other choices it's a steal.

I also like the ability to easily step over the tongue when hitched.

Looks like a quality and well designed product. I do not have tailgate clearance issues but if I did, I'd be all over that Jack-E-Up product.
I love me some land yachting
