Tire Recommendations for 7500 GVWR TT

Hi, We have a 2011 Jayco Eagle TT, 28.5', Dry Weight 5690, GVWR 7500. We are the second owner. The OEM tires have aged out so I'm about to replace them. They are Goodyear Marathons, Load Range C, 205/75R15, rated I think it is 1895 lbs ea. We haven't had any problems with them. We generally go camping 5 nights at a time, about 6 times a year, with the occasional longer trip. We do not load heavy, so for sure we are well under GVWR for the TT. However, we do live in the desert Southwest, so in summer, sometimes we do tow in high heat, though we mostly travel in the mornings to ease the heat strain on the truck and the TT.

For safety, I want to upgrade to at least Load Range D tires. I have already bought online and received, 4 Greenball Towmaster SS Special Trailer Radial Tire from Costco.com. They are Load Range D, rated for 2150 lbs ea. But before I have them mounted, I want to take a final look at this, as they are still returnable.

I did research on a number of trailer tires online, and it seems you can find good and bad reports and reviews on almost all of them. The Greenball Towmaster tires are no exception -- I find mostly happy owners with the occasional bad review/report.

I'm looking for any specific tire suggestions for our application. Thanks in advance!

I swapped my seven year old C rated tires for D rated tires. They carry a heavier load but they also transfer more vibration to the TT.

My 50 psi C rated valve stems work just fine with the 65 psi D rated tires.

I would really question the 85 mph rating on any ST tire.

LRD is the max you will find in 205-15.

Load ratings will all be the same on the same size tire.
The biggest difference in spec is the Goodyear has a higher speed rating.
Carlisle also has a higher speed rating.

Other tire manufactures make E 10 ply tires in your tire size. Goggle your tire size with E load rating 10 ply. Look at Tow Max, Carlisle amoung others.

Several of you recommend the Goodyear Endurance tire, but this tire is apparently so new that I can not find any written online reviews on it. Someone recommended I get that tire in Load Range E, but they don't offer a load range E in the size tire I need.

The Goodyear Endurance may in fact be an exceptional quality tire, I just don't know, but there just isn't enough user data out yet for me personally to justify spending $200 more than the four trailer tires I bought from Costco cost me. And, the tires I bought have the exact same specs as the Goodyear Endurance tires in the same size.

I would look at the Goodyear Endurance tires. I use like LR E.

I have a 2014 Eagle 266 RKS and had D 8 ply rated tires. The first tire blew out at 6000 miles. I removed all the D rated tires and installed E 10 ply rated tires. The load capacity went from 2200 lbs. per tire to 2840 lbs. per tire. Also the tire pressure went from 65 PSI to 80 Psi. The increased tire pressure creates less rolling resistance, les tire squirming from side winds( better stability) and my towing fuel mileage went up 1 mile a gallon. For the minor cost difference go with the E rated 10 ply tire.

I just had 4 Goodyear Endurance installed a couple weeks ago. The specs and ratings so far on this new american made tire looks impressive.

Speed Rating is M. I just looked that up and the chart I found says an M speed rating = 81 mph. Wow, surprisingly high! I generally try to keep it under 65 mph when towing.

Don't forget to get metal valve stems when you have them mounted.

Not almost all of them....all of them. The tires you bought will work fine.
