unanticipated freezing temps

Hello all,

We are living in our travel trailer in south texas and there is a possibility of lows getting down into the mid 20s next week. About 20 degrees below "average". This should be 1 or 2 nights for a couple of hours total with day temps in the 40s.

We will run our furnace and keep the cabinets doors open to allow heat to the pipes. And I will bring in the slide.

What else can we do? It's been suggested to run water all night and adding antifreeze into the black tank.

Any other suggestions?

Disconnect your hose and drain-and make sure that your sewer hose is dry-otherwise using your heat takes care of most issues!

Mid-20's overnight should be no problem. I boondock in those kinds of temps all the time and our TT has no special cold weather features.

If you have water hookup, it might be a good idea to unhook and drain the hose. I wouldn't worry about the sewer hose -- it won't freeze enough to hurt anything.

If you were expecting below freezing temps for a couple of days, you would need to be more concerned about pipes freezing.

Do not drip. Fill your fresh tank, disconnect and drain your hose. use your pump. You will have water without concern of freezing your waste hose, and not waste the water.

Hi,

Disconnect the water hose and use tanked water. Disconnect the slinky. Make sure the propane tank(s) are full.

Insulate windows with towels, use non toxic antifreeze to keep drains from freezing, in U traps. Don't forget some fresh air has to come in or the oxygen levels will fall and you will get dizzy. Close outside vent to stove, don't forget to reopen it when using it. Cover A/C roof vents and returns with plastic wrap so heat does not rise into them.

you could winterize for two nights if you were really worried.
