Thanks for the heads up on Ziebart...I may not have had to change my brake and fuel lines if I had that done when it was new.

Yep they (Ziebart) is still alive and kicking. I had my 2004 done and @ 150K not a bit of rust on her! Hope to get the same thing with the new truck also.

I have never had the paint protection done before but beings the weather here is in the 30's I'm not going to be able to wax her like I would like to. So we will let them do it and see how it works.

And the reason I went with the black rims is that Ram put those cheesy plastic chrome covers on the rims. :R

I also love the color, not a big fan of black rims though. What's shocking about the payload? 1081 lbs is a little more than A HALF-TON.....hence the category name for 150/1500 trucks.

Hey Don, good luck with the new baby! I didn't think Ziebart was around anymore, I thought factory rustproofing eliminated the need for the aftermarket treatments...

Ninebikers I don't have her yet, we took it out for a ride to see if I could live with the bucket seats. It is going to Ziebart then Line-X before we pick it up that way it will nice and clean when they get it.

I do like how the wheels look on the truck, wife thought it was going to look stupid. She said well I was wrong they look great! :C

I love the wheels and the color. I don't think I've ever seen that color before. I know it's been discussed before, but the payload sticker is shocking.

Go burn a tank of fuel and tell us what you get for mpgs, pen and paper. Did your dealership really top the tank off full, to the brim, before delivery to you?

Looks nice, shiny, and new. How's the weather been where you live, before it gets covered in snow, muck and dirt? Hope it's sealed and waxes already before the wet weather hits.

Well here she is! 🙂 Dealer is sending it off to Ziebart for rust, undercoating, paint and fabric protection. Then off to Line-X and hopefully in my driveway Friday or Saturday at the latest! Called Autoanything.com for the Bak-flip and Husky floor liners

I've never ordered a new car or a new truck. Being retired, I find exactly what I want already sitting on some dealer's lot and then try to come to an agreement on price.

I'd be pizzed and frosted paying $1100 delivery fee for a new truck, when I could probably fly out and drive it off the parking lot where it was made and drive it home myself.

It's one thing to pay for delivery if it came across the pond on a boat from Germany or Bratislava Slovakia, like my Touareg, it's another thing when it's made right here in the good old USA. Dealer prep nowadays, and dealer inspection pre delivery are laughable, IMHO, it never seems to get accomplished or done.

For me, internet sales has been where it's at. And the future of where it may be going.

Sorry for the insult. Yes, you should get what you want. I just have a different outlook on life after some significant events this year. Being in a hospital for an extended time can do that. I would personally be happy with the Tradesman interior that had been smoked in for 5 years, but regardless, I hope you get what you want to get. That will be a very nice truck.

You buy a new truck and 20 pages of a story that means nothing. Tell us when it arrives and we can be happy for you.

Well I am VERY thankful that I have a good paying job, unlike most. But that would kinda be my point, if I'm paying $53,000 for a truck (I'm not BTW E-price is $43,000 something) I want the truck the way I ordered it! I ordered the Outdoorsman with a bench seat, then they come along and changed it to bucket seats.

So then I order a Laramie because it comes standard with the premium sound system and you can get it with the bench seat. It also will come in at the $53,000 mark because I did not order the air suspension or spray in bedliner. But it seems the Laramie was damaged in the paint department and it was scraped. Now it needs to be remade and I don't feel like waiting until who knows when for that to happen.

So when the Outdoorsman makes it to the dealership I will take it out for a day and see if I can live with the bucket seats. If I can't I will keep driving the Jeep my dealer gave me after my 2500 sold.

Hate the bucket seats? Just be thankful that you are in a position to be able to afford a new $50,000 truck. Many are not.

Well still no idea when the Laramie will show up at the dealership but the Outdoorsman should be there soon. I can now see the Window Sticker so it may be here this week. I had a call from the dealer that I missed so I'm going to call him this morning to find out what's up.

As much as I hate the bucket seats I just might have to live with them.
