Vin number location???

I have a 1973 Holiday Rambler travel trailer. For title purposes we need the VIN number but I do not know where to find it on my trailer where is every place I could look where I could possibly find the VIN number?

The current 17 digit VIN became the standard in 1981. Each digit has a meaning, with the last 5-7 characters being serialized. Prior to 1981, there were VINs, but no standardization. Each manufacturer had their own standard. This was for all vehicles, including trailers. As noted, there may be a stamped number somewhere on the tongue of the trailer. Nearly all vehicles also have a hidden VIN somewhere on the vehicle. If you cannot locate it, an option to check out would be with your local, county, or state law enforcement. Most agencies have officers who specialise in truck/commercial inspections, and they know every possible location a hidden VIN could be located. Even for a 70s model, there's very likely a hidden VIN somewhere. And it could be a very short number, or combination of numbers and letters.

Are you sure a 73 has a VIN, it might just have a manufacturer's serial number. I ran into that with a 70's vintage boat, it was too old to have a modern 17 digit VIN. It just had a serial number stamped.

Welded on the inside of the frame? A lot are and mine is L side about 2 ft rom front.

In my 80's vintage HR, the VIN was on a sticker inside a cabinet door.

If it's still there, the VIN should be on the GVWR sticker - usually on the street/driver's side of the trailer toward the front. On an older trailer, you may have to do as GordonThree suggested and start looking on the tongue. The VIN is usually stamped in the steel frame member on the street/driver's side between the coupler and the front of the trailer body.

Now... a 1973 Holiday Rambler? What a treasure!

I Don't have direct knowledge. My VIN is stamped on the frame up near the hitch coupler and also on the right hand rail just under where the cabin starts.

Likely the same for your rig, maybe covered by decades of paint?
