Weber Q regulator question

So for those of you that are plumbing their grill into the trailer did you remove the regulator on the grill or did you leave it there? I'm not sure of it would burst anything to leave it since the trailer already has a regulator.

Here's the link to a sticky that I wrote for the Keystone Forum that explains all of this in detail including photos.

Looks like you have the info above, many of us have done this. I just want to add that the QD outlet on your trailer might be a hard to find ($$) prepietory fitting. Just remove it and get a common QD setup from Home depot or your propane dealer. My Jayco had an odd ball fitting that I replaced.

The removal of the regulator is very easy. I also bought a regulator for a 20 lb tank, put a QD on it for times I'm not taking the trailer. I also tapped into my house propane and put an outlet behind the house and use it while I'm home.

I bought a quick connect hose and then took the hose and the valve from the BBQ with me and went to Home Depot and Lowes and found the fittings I needed. Anything with threads I used the yellow propane tape on.

I did this, here's the list my friend sent me:

We have a Weber Q220 at home and love it. On Pop Up Explorer/RV Itch many people mod a Baby Q to use the low pressure quick connect on their camper if they have one...since the Visa came with a quick connect, it didn't take too long before this mod was calling my name. I found a never-used Q100 (the little brotherto our 220) on Craigslist, complete with the rolling collapsible stand and cover - sweet!

So you start by taking the regulator off of the grill, which leaves you with a 1/8" male fitting. From there here is the list of parts I ordered from http://www.bigway.com/:
- Reducing coupling ยผโ€ female to 1/8โ€ female, item # 40-1 (from the grill to the hose)
- Hose (I went for 9โ€™) ยผโ€ male on both ends, item # 20-90
- Gender bender double female coupling, part # 39-10 (from the hose to the quick connect)

So I looked at the regulator on the Q and I'm going to need some fittings to convert the grill. Has anyone done this and have a record of what you used?

Perfect! Thanks a bunch. I have a tap already at the back of the trailer and am replacing the crapy grill that came with the trailer. I already have the extended hose with the appropriate connectors but wasn't sure about the regulator.

It depends on where you tap into the trailer propane. If you tap in at the tank itself before the regulator, you will need the regulator on the Q. If you tap in after the trailer's regulator, you will need to remove the regulator from the Q as there will not be enough propane flow as naturist says above.

Won't burst anything, just won't allow enough gas flow for you to actually light the grill. Since the trailer already has a regulator on it.
