Where to buy new engine 5.9 Cummins

Well looks like my 2007 5.9 Cummins to a dump and is knocking spun a rod bearing or something I think will know more later today. I am expecting that I will need a new engine. It appears that the one in there was a reman from 2008 according to the sticker on the valve cover so I am not so sure about rebuilding it. We will see. Anyone know of a good place to get another engine for a reasonable price and quality. We have a Cummins place here in El Paso however they are having trouble getting me a quote since this is a reman'd engine in there and the number they want that is on my valve cover doesn't match anything in their system.

Jaraxle I am not willing or comfortable using a junkyard engine as I would not know the history of that engine and it's maintenance.

Nope mine does not have it or at least I can not find it anywhere. My truck does not have a reset button in the dash like you guys have. I have the arrow buttons in the steering wheel and two trip dialog windows in the driver information display.

Don, I am almost 100% that your truck has this. You just need to look a little more. As was stated, scroll through the screens that have the engine and trans temp.

I travel a lot for work, and all the Chrysler rental cars that I have been in for the last few years have engine hours. Grand Cherokees, 300/Charger, 200, Journey. I can't imagine that your truck does not have it.

Don, my 13 only has the buttons in the steering wheel too but it has the hr meter. On mine, when you have the digital speedo in the center display, push the down arrow once. That brings up the vehicle info screen. I then push the right arrow until the hour screen comes up. It displays idle hrs, driving hrs, and total hours on mine.

CRCR your 2004.5 does have the hour meter. Turn the truck to run than push and hold the Trip reset button in for 5 seconds. Note the mileage must be showing not the trip mileage.

My 2005 won't do it.;)

If you have a diesel it will 😉 the trick is the milage has to be showing not the trip mileage, then press and HOLD the reset button in the dash until the hours are shown.

I stand corrected. I went out and tried it and yes it will do it. I know I've tried it before and it didn't work.:S

I have averaged 35.7 MPH. I have idled that truck a lot too. I must drive fast.....

I don't think mine has it, I have looked at every screen but can't come up with it. When she goes in for her first oil change I'll see if the dealership can find along with the exhaust temp and boost readings.

If your screen is set up like the one in my 2014 Ram 3500, it is one bump under the speedometer display screen and then sideways to show engine hours. In other words find the screen that shows oil, coolant, transmission temperatures then go sideways on that screen to find engine hours.

Clear as mud I think. Sorry!

It is the last screen under vehicle information.
