I remember seeing this Mod in the sticky thread, but I'll be darned if I can find it again. (Saved this picture from when I saw it the first time.)

Have you ever done this Mod? If so, I would like ALL your info.
Where did you get materials?
Did you cut them to fit?
Any special tools required?
etc...

And thanks!!

LeBout:

Sent a private message as well, just wondering what size command hooks you used for the closet shelves.

Update: Completed 9/1/13, using medium-sized command hooks. Love it, love it, love it! Passed it along to a number of fellow campers during our week-long trip.

THANK YOU for all the great comments. One thing I like about camping is working on projects on the TT. Went into town and checked out the wire shelving, and based on the comments here, we decided to go with 3M Command Strip Hooks. Nothing to screw or drill.

Here's the space before I started. (Glad I brought along my work light!!)

Getting the 3M Command Strip Hooks installed

Done!!

And then with all my clothes. (My wife will be HORRIFIED that I showed you all this one!!) 🙂

Bottom line: I love it!! Looks and works great! Thanks again for the tips!

I was going to do something like this, but at wal mart I saw this heavy duty adjustable rack for $20, it's awesome. Still room to hang 6-8 shirts without smashing them, and tons of space for clothes on the rack. There was even some room left at the bottom for shoes. Couldn't be easier or more efficient.

This is exactly what we did in our old HTT. The closet in our new one is too small for this...

I did the wire rack shelving in my prior TT worked fine for five years. Currently I have free standing stainless looking wire shelving in my fiver.
Both are pictured types are pictured above in this thread

If you do this project, I recommend staying away from that plastic coated wire- better to go with stainless or painted. I've used the coated wire more than once in my trailer, and it has ALWAYS cracked/peeled after a year or two. Then the rust begins...

The latest place it's starting is in my main closet, where I installed a configuration much like the above.

I did this to my trailer clothes closets and love it.
Went from barely having enough room for our clothes to having more than needed. Easier to find stuff too. Of course, no hanging space in those closets, but we have another closet near entry way for jackets, etc. so no big deal.
Used wire shelving from Home Depot supported with small wood ledgers that I screwed to the cabinet sides.
I used a sawzall to cut the wire, but you could easily do it with a hacksaw.

I used a bolt cutter.

I did ours like the picture. I used shelving from lowes that I cut to fit (bought 1 long piece to make 3 shelves) I used the 3m command hooks to hang them so I didn't have to worry about comming through the wall with a screw. The have been loadded heavily with clothes for 6 months and work great!

I used a hanging closet organizer from bed bath beyond that does a similar concept. Works well, as I don't care about having anything "hanging" of a hanger in the camper. I'd rather fold it.

I started down that route, but ended up using laminate flooring.
