I am looking at a WC or maybe the lightest AF.
I have some general questions about them.

Can you make the WC's comfortable in temps as low as freezing and as high as mid 90's?

How big is the generator bay? Will two Honda 2000W's fit? or a Yamaha 2400W?

Are any of you using the 2500W Onan? is it noisy? How long does propane last running it?

Is the Coleman 9k unit large enough for 90-95 degree weather?

How hot does the bunk area above the cab get? Or is it ducted?

Where do you store fuel for the generator?

Where do you store your tools?

Where do you store your lawn chairs, ice chests and other gear?

Sorry for all of the questions.

Thanks for the responses. I think the AF's have R10 in the walls vs R5 for the WC so that might make a difference. Also the newer AF have the arched ceiling with quite a bit more of insulation in the ceiling. I am not against an AF just that they are going to be at least 1000-1500 lbs heavier which might be pushing it for a F350 SRW fully loaded King Ranch.

I just traded my F350 for a Ram because of payload. My Ford had a payload of 3267. Same Ram is 4018. Chevy is about halfway in between.

Gen bay might hold certain brand 2000 watt gensets, I inow the 2200 Hyundai won't fit though.

Upper bunk is not ducted, heats just fine and fantastic fan cools it quick.

Don't use a genset so can't help you there.

Tools go behind my seat of my truck, but have a mega so lots of room. I store my lawn chairs beside the TC in the bed, the slide in once the camper is loaded. Ice cheats goes in the boat or on the trailer for other toys. I distribute gear throughout my TC, truck and boat. You figure it out once you have it a bit and what to take, what you do without, and how to downsize (for example, I don't have huge lanterns anymore, went with solar blow up models that work great, weigh nothing and deflate to nothing for easy storage. Look at backpackers and their gear for great weight and size saving gear.

I have an AF 865, no slide out with an Onan 2500 onboard. I have used the generator for an hour or two now and again, it is pretty decent and uses less propane than estimated.

I have camped into the mid-20's at night and 100 degree days and generally don't use the a/c unless hooked to shore power. Heat is fine, it is not ducted into the bathroom on mine and that makes for a chilly morning pitstop on a cold morning. The a/c is cold enough to freeze you out of the camper.

The bed area is fine and stays warm, aim a vent up and back and you are in business. Ice chest goes on the floor inside the door, there is a 6 foot slide out tray for tools and small storage under the bathroom sink (outside access) and inside the valve area. We haul extra stuff up top or in the back seat of our dual cab. I store two or three folding chairs in the bathroom and maybe a small folding Coleman table. I have a bike rack on the ladder and spare tire is up front on a front hitch mount.

All AF campers are heavy in my opinion, the Truck Camper magazine estimated wet weights are pretty accurate. As far as I can tell everyone is heavier than they claim. A properly set-up single rear wheel truck does fine in spite of what some of the weight Nazis on this forum tell you.

A Wolf Creek is lighter and has a few items that are not as fancy as an AF, I looked at both. I actually hunted thru every brand locally available to me. AF had the tallest over bed ceiling and high quality for the most part.

I have AF 990 no problem staying warm at many degrees below zero generator bay probably will not hold 2 Hondas AC plenty big to keep whole camper cool and will run on 1 Honda 2000. I strap a box on 1 of those things that go in receiver hitch fuel in gen compartment or in box strapped on back. Honda generator will fit in gen compartment or put in shower or back seat
