I understand now. I always read post by the Ram folks referencing that particular transmission and didn't know why. Rams are nice looking trucks in my opinion.

The West Coast Chrysler Warranty Rep said RE the Aisin "they don't break".

I will say my 68 RFE has performed flawlessly with 42K on the clock.

My next RAM will have the Aisin!

The Aisin is now an option on the CTD, all models.

Yes. The Aisin is used with the HO engines, the 68RFE is used with the rest.

Does Ram offer another 6 speed automatic with a Diesel engine? They list this as an option, is it just this or a manual with a Diesel engine ?

Interesting article. I found the part about cleaning dirt switches....vs transmission rebuilds of particular interest.
