I just noticed this photo of a TC that is on a for sale site is very large being 18ft overall with 12ft 4 inches floor.
How practical are large Truck Campers Off Road? It is actually a Custom build

I think this was more or less about American junk and Australian superiority

More like Lances bad businesses decision trying to expect people to buy TC's when they are buying Campertrailers, Hybrid Caravans and Off Road Caravans. They even resorted to making a large Australian built TC but to no avail.

I think this was more or less about American junk and Australian superiority. I will be getting in my POS Lance this Friday and I'm going to the beach. This was the biggest phishing expedition on here. It was fun though...

most, if they in fact do get good milage (what do they get) then that's one out of 3 wrong which is some at best, I would say

No fuel mileage better than a F350-F450. No not better than a F150 for small TC's

They are way to tall

They Australian Earthcruiser are built for that size to go into a shipping container
You are thinking of ones built on European Trucks they are large and yes non US owners do take them Off Road.
Leave you with a Truck Camper photo that is unique to Australia. This is a Australian designed and built Chrysler Valiant with a 265 cu in straight six( not slant) "ute" with a Millard TC. Millard still makes an updated all compasite version. This photo dates from the 1970's

ya but there not a camper, I can't take them off and use the truck for other things, the fuel milage probably sucks, the are pop ups which would be useless in my climate, and boy are they ugly.

Got most of that wrong. Fuel milage is very good. They are a MOTORHOME so they part of the vehicle. Actually it is built for severe climates including yours.Ugly? Eye of the beholder a TC is ugly to a Winnebago Revel owner TC's are not brilliant in high winds they are sale attached to the Truck.
That vehicle base is used for TC's

most, if they in fact do get good milage (what do they get) then that's one out of 3 wrong which is some at best, I would say I'm mostly right haha. but the issue I had is this is about large truck campers then someone posts motorhomes, let's try to stay on topic ;).

I'll also add they are pretty much useless where I live, they will never fit in the off-road places as they're way too tall. well, I guess they might work if you want to have someone on the roof with a chain saw as you drive thought the trailer, and someone ahead making the turns wider. the only time we see those are when some rich guy ships them across the ocean to the countries he is visiting and stays on the highway and in campground

In this case you do not have to worry. Still these would be too expensive as Expedition vehicles but TC's are also built on them Video below
Eathcruiser extreme Off Road
It can do that as an Expedition vehicle here it is as a TC. No you cannot buy them in the US. Truck payload is 10,000lbs GVWR goes to 15,500lb

Yeah but, whatever….still trying to figure out why he’s still just jibbering on like a used Camper salesman….

Ok, now those look like truck campers.
Does lance and Palimino have a factory in Australia? Or are they shipped over? If they are produced in Australia do they have different specs? Does the first pic of the truck you posted that is for sale lift off a flat bed. Is that why you called it a truck camper? That would be where I got lost. I didn't think they would be completely different than American counter parts. I have seen videos of box like campers lifting off of flat beds from overseas.

Joe to answer your questions
(1) Lance died several years ago here. Palomino is a very cheap bargain basement outfit. There are roughly 15 manufacturers of TC's in Australia
(2) we call Truck Campers Slideon's in Australia. I am using TC so you kniw what I am talking about.
(3) TC's are similar and very different to what you get in the US
(4) They use flat beds here not Pickup Beds

Ok
