I went on the roof not long ago when it was 101* outside and used my infrared thermometer and got temp readings of 145* on both shrouds with the AC units running in the full sun. I then took the shroud off the rear unit, scuffed it up a bit and spray painted it gloss white. Same situation as before only this time the white shroud had a temp reading of 114*. Needless to say I pulled the front AC unit shroud and painted it white as well. To me a drop in temp of 30* could do nothing but help.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesThanks for the replies. We are headed out for a couple of weeks so it will be our first chance to use the Mobley in other areas. One place we spend a lot of time is a rural area and if it works good there we are going to cancel our current internet provider when we get back. I would like to ask one other question that crossed my mind the other day. If you own a Mobley and let's say it goes bad would it be as simple as buying a new one and just swapping the Sim card from the active one to the new one and keep on trucking or is there more to it than that? I would think the information AT&T has would all be on the card. May be a dumb question but I was just wondering how the process would work if your Mobley ever died.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesOf those of you that have been using the Mobley for a while now how many gigs have some of you used per month and have you noticed any slow downs? Our current Internet service is costing us $80 a month and we have been using 30 to 40 gigs per month on it. I would really like to ditch it and just use the Mobley. Anyone had any issues after reaching the 22 gig point?Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phones I was a preexisting AT&T customer and bought mine outright and was charged $25 even though their site said there was no charge unless I took the 2 year plan. I chatted with them and they gave me a credit. This was my experience. AT&T removed the $25 when I told them we had an existing account with AT&T for our cell phones and had bought the Mobley outright.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesThought I would give an update on the Mobley we received last Saturday from ABC Warehouse. I called AT&T Connected Car as soon as I got it and had service setup within 30 minutes. I received the AC adapter Wednesday and the Mobley updated to the latest version and the service and speed we have experienced has been great. Now yesterday we had a small hiccup, my wife received a text from AT&T that 1 gig of data had been added to our account because of an overage. When we checked they had set the Mobley up on the 6 gig plan. I called the CC number again and had it fixed up within 10 minutes. Somehow they had not set it up on the unlimited plan. So anyone that has not started the billing cycle yet may want to check and make sure you do in fact have the unlimited plan.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesThanks Dave! I just ordered an AC adapter for it from Amazon so once I get that and can keep it on maybe it will update itself as you said.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesI received the Mobley and called the Connected Car number. I was on hold for maybe 1 minute before I got a rep. The total call was 30 minutes and it is up and running fine. Maybe having an AT&T account with our phones cut down on the setup time. They did wave the $25 fee and added it to our account as a new line for $20 a month. It was really much easier than I thought it would be. Now a question. The one I received shows a software level of 1.0.0 and it appears from some other post it should be 1.0.1. How would I update this? I did go into the setup to change the password but did not find anywhere in there to force a software update. The maximum timeout I could set it to was 2 hours. I am ordering an AC adapter for it now and would like to update if possible once I get that so I don't have to sit in my truck dealing with it.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesMrWizard, thanks for the info. I was hoping that already having an account with AT&T would help. If they deliver it tomorrow I will give them a call. If I can get the thing up and working I need to order an AC adapter for it. Wanted to make sure I got one and got it working before jumping the gun on an adapter. I will try and report back how the process goes.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesThe Mobley I ordered from ABC Warehouse is due to be delivered tomorrow. What information do I need to have when I call the Connected Car number to try and get it activated on the $20 Unlimited plan? I am trying to make this as painless and as quick as possible. We have Directv and both our cell phones are with AT&T I don't now if that will make a difference or not.Re: AT&T Unlimited LTE Hotspot $20 without AT&T phonesI ordered one from ABC Warehouse yesterday morning online and it went through the process and I got an email the order had been placed. I guess we will see if I get it.
