Yes, this is normal. The chassis battery needs to be recharged with a battery mind or a battery charger. The coach batteries are automatically charged by the power converter.

I don't know if this is true, but I heard at one time NOT to lubricate. The reason was that the ball and receiver provided the electrical ground for the trailer and lubrication interfered with that connection.
