Dixie Flyer,
I spent the better part of today reading this thread. Over the years I have visited it but never read all of the posts. Well, today I sat and read over 1,000 pages. I know I have no life. Words can not say how touched I am to have read and learned about Old Fella, You, Your Wife and everyone else here that Old Fella touched.
After my back surgery my Doctor suggested getting a dog to get me up and moving as I had been stuck in my recliner for several months due to pain. Well, my DW and I started looking for a Dog to adopt. It took several months before we found my Macy. She was six months old and was not living in the best of situations. Luckily, her family did what was best and let her come to live with us. She is now almost Seven and is the love of my life. There are days when I just sit with her and she will just stare into my eyes. If not for her I am not sure that I would still be here.
We all love our Furry Kids so very much and it is so very hard to do what is right for them when the time comes but that is what we have to do.
Thank You for all the you have done. I have more to say but I just can not find the words right now so I will leave it here and say Good Night and go and give my two Fur Babies (Macy and Sandi) a hug.
