Don't you wish all people were like us and held such love in their hearts for the animals of this world? What a happy forum we have! I feel blessed to have been a part of this story. And I feel blessed to know people like all of you and people like Rich. And dogs like Old Fella. I have a couple of things in my life right now that are bothering me but I can always come to this forum and reread this story and it just uplifts me. Wish I could make it to the rally.

I just sent an email to the KOA in Cherokee telling them that Old Fella was coming the 21-24 of October for his first camp out with his new family. Old Fella is doing great. He just had to run for cover. Sue got after him for eating the cat's food. When she clapped her hands and stomped her foot and shouted "NO!" he took off running and came straight to me for protection. He got behind me and my chair with his head out looking back at Sue. "Save me Dad, Save me!!" And I did with a laugh. He has been such a joy since he has come to live with us and it brings such happiness to see him becoming more settled every day with his new home. He just decided to sprawled out at my feet to get his belly rub. You should see him when we go for our afternoon walk. Head held high, tail sticking up like a flag pole and ears up, ever attentive to the new noises around him and those ever searching eyes looking at all the new adventurous things that are now his to gaze at.
I thank God every day that I went back and got Old Fella and I have you to thank for all the encouragement I received to carry out this rescue and watch the love that has poured out in this forum give an old dog life and another chance at being loved and cared for. Thank you so much.

I have been following this story from the beginning and it so touched me that I forwarded the link to it to my non-RV'ing, but pet owning friends, and even some who I just knew would enjoy the story! I was right, everyone is coming back day after day to keep tabs on Old Fella. Now here's the kicker, two of our friends called us about Rv'ing! I think they're really interested after seeing how many wonderful people responded to this story and what a wonderful "community" we are. The story just keeps getting better and better. Rich, there is surely a special place in heaven for you! I'm going to see what I can do to make sure we're at the rally. Our little furkid would love to meet Old Fella.

Wow!
What a story!! I just finished it from start to finish!
It was like a book that couldn't be put down; but it was put down only to feed my furkids--I delayed dinner for me!
Richard, I do have a question for you; what did your vet say about all the interest in Old Fella? I doubt if any vet has had such a grass roots "star" in their clinic!
I hope that there will be more rescues because of "Old Fella"
