Another Los Angeles route around question

What's the best route through LA when going from Santa Barbra to San Diego? I'm assuming weekends might be easier? (If there is such a thing in LA.):)

There is no easy way just go with the flow or try to make your trip early in the AM or late PM

I was considering something like this to bypass LA traffic. How much time should one allow for this drive? Understand that traffic can still be unpredictable.

What Sandy said. If you're very brave, you can take the 101 to the 405 and on south to SD. Yikes!

I recommend usine 126 through Fillmore to the 5, then the 210 to the 15, then south on the 15 to Sandy Eggo.
