Hey RV Freinds, what’s the best route to Ridgeway state park from I-25? Mapquest has me heading over to I-25 from OKC then taking 69 off of I -25 then connecting to Hwy 50 then over to ridgeway. Is that a good route with a 34 ft 5 th Wheel.

Thanks Walter, that’s what I was wanting was the type of road and mountains I’d be dealing with, monarch pass shouldn’t be a problem, I have a 3500 Duramax 1 yon dually with the engine brake.
Thx

Yes that is a good route. It is the one we always take to that area of the state from Co. Springs. You go over Monarch pass which is not to bad and then a nice drive from there.

Google maps shows me 3 alternatives, which differ by less than an hour (out of 13).

The shortest and fastest is as you describe - 69 and US50 - and then south on 550 to Ridgeway.

An alternative takes I40 to Alb, and 550 NW and N. That's long, but almost as fast - it has more freeway with a higher estimated speed.

But 550 from Durango to Ouray is not for the timid, or mountain novice.
145 from Cortez is an easier mountain pass from the south.

160 is another option for crossing southern Colorado. But this will be longer.

In short, US50 is the easiest way into this part of the Colorado mountains.
