From Cross City a lot of the traffic will be much bigger than any legal length RV. Overlength logging trucks, double bottom dumps coming out of the limestone quarries. No problems with road widths, turns, etc. You must slow down for the towns.

I usually pick up 98 at St Marks or Perry, going to Crystal River or Brooksville. Most of the route is four-lane divided, and it is the main commercial trucking route for the northwest and west central Florida. Haven't taken it through to Pensacola since 2004.

US-19, going south from where 98 splits, is another story. Though the road remains good, traffic gets horrible, with respect to both amount and driver quality.

This route is big rig friendly all the way. Nice State Parks to stay at along the way. Hwy 98 starts heading inland just south of Homosassa and then winds around heading south west through the state inland.

Nice campground in Crystal River FL, called rock crusher canyon rv park. In joy the trip and come to FL

I really know of no part of the US that does not have a huge amount of truck traffic delivering goods of all sorts. How FRIENDLY people are depends more on how they're treated than their location.

It's US 98, not county road??? After Panama City not many traffic lights until Brooksville where you may want to get on I-75.

I am going to guess that just about every numbered highway in the United States is big rig friendly. If not, there will be ample signage to warn the tractor trailers.
