CA-243 between I-10 and CA-74

Want to spend a couple nights at Thousand Trails Idyllwild. I figure that If there is a Thousand Trails, how tough can the road be. Then I look at the squiggly lines and I have second thoughts.

Anyone with info on this route will be appreciated.

Lot of rv's use this and other routes into the San Jacinto Mts. just make sure your cooling system and brakes are in good working order, take your time and enjoy the scenery. The Thousand Trails is actually located in Pine Cove, that's the road by the Fire Station. I would go up or down during the week as the previous poster mentioned Motorcycles and sports cars like to tear it up on the weekends and there is usually one every weekend that runs out of talent.
