Gettysburg to Baltimore SR 140?

I am wondering if anyone has traveled with a TT, or Fifth wheel over SR 140 from Emmitsburg to 695 in Baltimore. It looks on the map like it would be a shorter distance to go rather than going down 15 to Frederick, MD and then onto RT 70 into Baltimore.
We are in the planning stages for a summer end trip and just looking at possibilities for travel. I would like to stop at Gettysburg and tour around as it's been many years since we saw it last.
Any comments would be appreciated on this state road 140, any obstacles, low tree branches etx.
Thanks

Thanks Busskipper and Terry25 for your comments, I just remember being stuck in a whole mass of traffic coming down 15 and 70, not sure which. I was thinking that even though 140 might be slower it might be faster than being stuck behind a mass of cars going nowhere. I guess when we get there I'll decide but going to Essex to see my daughter is our destination. I'm thinking of going over the east side of 695 to avoid the toll of the bridge and it drops right into the Essex area. When we leave we will then go over the Francis Scott key bridge to head south and home.

Just watch out for RUSH HOURS around B'more.

You'll have no trouble with low branches or any other obstacles on 140. It's becoming an informal truck route connecting southern PA with I81 at Hagerstown without dealing with the Balto metro area. Probably a little shorter than going to Frederick but distance saved will be traded for time at the stop lights in Taneytown and especially. between Westminister and Reisterstown where I795 connects with I695. Friends in the Emmitsburg area opt for the US15 to I70 route. Another option would be Route 97 from Gettysburg through Littlestown to 140 in Westminister. This would be my last choice. I'd go to Frederick and down. And yes, I have towed a tt on the 140 route.

Have taken My Coach on RT140 with no problem - 140 to 15 works just slow down in the towns.
