I am happy to read this news. I try to use the trucker pumps to get the good stuff.

At one time the Mexican fuel had a higher Cetane than in the USA. Our previous Blue bird would act like a race car on Pemex fuel. I think it is still better but not as good as say in 2008. I never really noticed a mileage improvement.

You don't have to go back that far. Mexican diesel, LSD, is better than USA ULSD TODAY. The stuff pumped in the USA is ****.

I get 20% better mileage, more power, and a quiet running engine when in MX vs when driving in the USA.

How can burning 20% more fuel to go the same distance be good for the environment?

Where is that White guy who claimed that all stations had ULSD? Yet an Arco district manager told me last year that it had not happened. But White declared that the problem in getting that fuel has passed. Some of the larger US chains in Mex co MAY have ULSD. I know for a fact that Arco only sells USA fuel. Both gasoline and diesel/ I have stated ad nauseum that the trucks sold in Mexico do not require ULSD. They meet an old European standard similar to the USA requirements for 2004. One of that large Mexican Trucking Companies has stated they will not order any new trucks that require ULSD until the fuel is available everywhere. I do think that Mexico should be chastised for delaying the changeover so many times. In the meantime if you need ULSD go to an Arco station. I might add that our 1988 Bluebird loves the old Mexican fuel!

I don't see that as anything good at all.

"By a unanimous vote, Mexicoโ€™s Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) decided to postpone the closely watched rule in a meeting that lasted barely a few minutes, with no public discussion and no reason given."

Typical of the new administration. The CRE (regulatory energy commission) is made up of people who have no previous experience in the field, and one person has no degree. During the session to pick the current commission, one of them was asked the question, "What is a cell?" referring to solar energy. His answer, he didn't. He just held up his "cell"phone.

The official answer from all diesel manufacturers of diesel with DEF, is that you MUST use ULSD. PERIOD.

Actual experience with using LSD in them-- probably falls into the "what I got away with" category.

Certainly not a step forward for the environment.

I dont have a dog in this hunt,,,,, yet. But am curious, what effect does or would this have on newer trucks with def and particulate filters?
Does it cause those systems a problem?

Happiness is breathing cleaner air, playaboy, not five more years of dirty diesel.
