I-35 SW of Kansas City to NE of MKC problems?

Planning on going through or going around Kansas City, MO in August. Are there any construction projects in or around Kansas City that would cause problems going through the middle of the city on I-35? I would be driving a 38 food DP pulling a towed. Any problems going straight through, or should I take I435 up the west side and over to I-35 on Hwy 152? Probably be going through about 10:00 a.m. on a weekday morning. Thanks for all replies, and have a nice day. Gary

Twice a year, I always take I435 around to the south and east sides.

To keep up on upcoming delays check,
jocogateway.com or ksdot.org/kcmetro for lane closures.
All of I-35 & some I-435, north of Olathe,in Johnson County,Ks are being modified. Expect delays until completion in 2016.

Okay I think I will take the 435 up the west side and 152 over. I'm getting so I don't like vast amounts of traffic anymore! Thanks to all for the answers. Gary

x2. Unless you have a reason to go thru downtown, this is a much easier way to travel thru, particularly in a large vehicle.

Take I-435 around the east side to avoid most downtown KC congestion. On the east side the I-435/152 interchange is north of I-35. I-435 connects with I-35 north of Worlds of Fun.

I'm not sure of any construction but even if there was, I-35 right through town is the way to go. Traffic shouldn't be bad at 11 AM.
