I-65 (Indiana) Closed - NB

According to local reports, I-65 NB between Lebanon and Lafayette, Indiana is being routed through small towns and long delays due to structural issues on a bridge. Friends on FaceBook report a one hour detour is three hours due to the heavy traffic and construction on the detour route. Speeds top out at 4mph at times.

This has the possibility of being a long issue as INDOT seeks to rectify the issue with the bridge.

I drove I65 north bound on yesterday returning from Ohio. The interstate is closed at MM 141. I exited at 140 and took Indiana 32 west. This is a very nice two lane road without issue of heights. I picked up I74 WB to US 41. Part of the detour includes US 231 but since I was not planning on returning to I65, I ran US41 straight north to my destination.

As I went SB on Friday, by the way it looks, the bridge work will take quite a bit of time as they have to rebuild the structure. I feel bad for those who have this interstate as part of their commute.

That is only the tip of the iceburg. Parts of US52 is under construction, 421 is closed in the area as is 32. I was in Brookston yesterday which is a little north of Lafette and people were showing up late and with no idea of how they finally got there. The whole area is a nightmare. Jim.
