I-820 around Ft. Worth?

I'm in the process of planning our route to the Texas Hill Country. In the past I've always caught 380 at Denton and taken it over to 281 in order to avoid Ft. Worth. But this year I'm considering taking I-35 down to I-820 and take that to I-30 then west to I-20 where it will intersect with 281. I'd heard last year that I-820 had a lot of construction and am wondering if that's still the situation or if it's completed. Thanks.

Just don't do it at night. Did it with the fiver a few weeks ago and it's just messy at the 820 to I35 interchange. The rest is a breeze.

X2 on coming through about 10:00-10:30. Should be fine.

Can get jammed up between 287 and 820 during rush hour morning and evening.

Be sure and hit 820 West to I-30 and not I-35 down to I-30.

Yea it should be fairly easy going through at that time. Just when you come up on 287 make sure you are already in the right lane create a little space. It gets pretty tight as traffic merges.

Every time i go camping to the north I come home that way(but head east on 820). Dont get in a big hurry!

"OMG, I35 is a hazard zone." Yeah, I'm not taking I-35 any further than I-820. No way I'm going to take the 5er through Austin.

"If you pick the right time of day I see no problem going I35 south since you would only be in traffic a couple miles as you are going to the 820 exit. The worst of the traffic is right at that interchange on to downtown

From Alliance airport to 820 can get real bad around rush hour. but it shouldnt put you out more than 20 minutes at its worst." So mid-morning, around 10:00-10:30 or so might be a good time?

OMG, I35 is a hazard zone. I take I35 from San Antonio up to Dallas/Ft Worth often. There is so much construction going on that it is just not worth the stress and time. I started doing what my sister does, take the back roads and enjoy the sites.
