Hello All,

I am planning travel on I-90 East Between Spokane, Wa and Billings, Montana in late Sept/early October and am wondering if I should be concerned about ice and snow.

Any input/advice would be much appreciated!

I am pulling a 40' fifth wheel with a Ram 3500 dually.

Thanks, Mark

Latest weather report if for snow in Montana in the higher altitudes (7,000+); your route will be okay as you only get a little higher than 5,000 just east of Butte. The snow is supposed to be a heavy wet snow which is sorely needed.

I agree with Corky - Would dance in the street if it rained hard. Missoula is supposed to be getting some rain today and tomorrow (Kalispell, not so much). However, you never know. Anything can happen. I'd suggest you check the webcams just before you leave. Access it at the MT gov website - highway dept. Good resource. Have a good trip.

Unless there's a HUGE change in the weather patterns in the next few weeks, I don't think you'd have anything to worry about when it comes to ice & snow. It's been a hot dry summer all over the NW.

Well, I don't know about Corky's "dancing in the street," (that's funny) but I-90 is a 80 MPH road most of the time. The highway does have a couple passes(Look Out, Fourth of July, and Pipe Stone), but never a problem.
Have a good trip.

It's unlikely, but it is possible. State road cameras will help you out. There are several mountain passes on that route, all are easily traveled and well maintained.

Anything can happen but typically would not worry about it that early. Right now we would be dancing naked in the streets if it were to snow.
