Laredo With One Ton Dually

We crossed at Puente 2 Laredo with our 1 ton dually and truck camper. We had no issues. We did the TIP online and that made it so much easier. We even had a police escort with several other vehicles to the first check point. Apparently there have been a few issues with robberies on that stretch. Took us maybe 1 hour to get our FMM.

You will be taking the exit for Mariposa/ Truck route. As you stated stay to the right with the trucks as you cannot get a MH through the other lanes. When you get to the border you keep going onto a wide freeway. Toll Road. Watch for signs that say cars/ Rv's. Right at The first border check station get into the right lane. Go slow. A border agent will come out and ask a few questions. Sometimes they go inside your unit. Your next stop is where you get the permits. There are signs. Large parking lot. Have fun!

Just remember to relax, smile and not get flustered. When in doubt, ask. This is a fun thing, and your vacation!

Looks like I could be crossing in one week depending on when we get out of Dodge here. I've been told to follow the trucks through (we're driving a 35' MH and towing a car). Just trying to make sure we can get all the paperwork done when we get to the border station south of Nogales.

It can be confusing on the Az side. there is an exit that is marked the border off mariposa ave. Do not take it, go straight. At the border use the far right hand lane or you will get stuck. Use the left hand lane before the checkpoint about 5 km south. You can get all your paperwork done at km 21. Make sure you have your passport, driver license and original registrations and copies of each. You get your tourist card first at the trailer at the end of the parking lot. Make a copy of it at the Xerox booth you pass on exit then proceed to banjercito office (green ramp) . Do not discard the paper that the sticker is attached to, you will need it on exit. You will need up to $400 US for the car deposit. You can use Visa. Be careful when towing a car in Mexico. They are not used to them. A friend of mine had hers damaged when someone decided to push himself between the motorhome & tow car, thinking it was some guy following close (heavy traffic at a toll booth)

Sunday is just like any other day. Everything is open. But when do you plan on crossing? Tomorrow or? It is never that busy other than Xmas but early is best.

Can anyone tell me if there is any problem crossing at Nogales on a Sunday and getting your FMM/TIP paperwork completed? The bank is open to pay, etc.? Any recommendations on best day and time to cross? Thanks

The FMM you can print out, the TIP comes in the mail. We got ours within 10 days but with the holidays I wouldn’t chance it.

Both. I need the FMMs and TIP on motorhome and towed car. Thanks everyone for the advice. If I can print the stuff out on line, I'd do it here, but I'm not waiting for the mail version.

Normally the turn around is fast, a couple of days, but like Tequila said, with the holidays and the problems they have been having, play it safe and get it at the border.

do it at the border, not only have they been having problems its over the holidays and it will be closed at least 4 days over that period.

Those of you who have applied on line for your FMM and/or TIP, can you tell me how long it takes to get the paperwork? I'm concerned that if I fill it out now, I won't have it mailed to me when we leave in a week to 10 days.

We were once at KM 21 and the computer line was down. At first they could not issue any TIP`s. The someone went to Nogales and got a manual CC machine. Took 4 hours!!
