Likely, CA to Verdi, NV

Leave in the morning and was looking at Giggle - uh, Google - maps for the 395. They say take A3 to cut the corner at Standish. But they are not towing!

Anyone got a clue?

WOW !! Verdi Nevada is my old stomping grounds. I grew up in that place, went to grade school there, threw rocks at trains there, bucked hay bales where Boomtown & Cabelas are located. Thanks for the memories.

Johnstonvile is about 5 miles S of Susanville...if you take A-3 to 395 you'll miss it.

Gooogle says it is about 15 miles from Standish to that intersection and there is no mention of Johnstonville on their map. So it sure did get confusing. Thanks for your efforts though.

its directly west of standish about 5 miles. its the intersection of 395 /36 and furthest westerly point if you didn't take the shortcut. sorry to confuse you. A-3 was built just for the purpose of the shortcut. enjoy your travels.

After you make your left turn from A3 onto 395 their is a nice rest area about 2 to 3 miles on the left ( Honey Lake Rest Area ) easy in and out.

A-3 from Standish to Janesville (shortcut), is a better road than standish to Johnstonville.
