Going to Madison, WI the end of July. Rather than going I55 through St Louis, I am looking at going I55 to I57 to US51 up to I39 in Normal, IL. Looking for advise on the quality of US51 through IL.
It's not a bad drive. Lots of small towns but no big cities except Decatur, which has a bypass. Take your time and enjoy our beautiful flat landscape, and you'll be fine.
