N Falls, NY - Acadia Natl Park

I have been reading about the tolls on I95 and slow moving traffic on route 1. The unfortunate part is I am leaving N Falls on a Thursday afternoon leaving me in weekend traffic.

We are a family of four who loves our National Parks and history. At this point I am not sure if I should head north in Maine or down to Mass???? Any ideas?

With the winter weather predicted for this weekend, I don't know if I would travel to Bar Harbor this weekend.

When we did the WNY to Maine trips it was NYS Thruway east past Albany and onto the Mass Turnpike. We did a northern loop before Boston and didn't hit I-95 until late in the trip. Tolls are terrible but what can you do?

When are you thinking of coming and what do you want to do? If you are worried about traffic and tolls then you might want to rethink coming to New England altogether-it is what it is.
