Wondering road conditions for 5th wheel from NM State 32 north at Apache Creek, NM through Quemado to connect to State 602 to Gallup NM
Also thinking NM HW 601 from Quemado go Fence Lake might be a fun drive instead of HW 36.
Coming from Safford AZ on AZ HW 78 to US HW 180 then up on US HW 12 to Apache Creek. Have driven Safford to Apache Creek but not going north from there. Heading to Farmington to fly fish at Navajo Dam, NM
Now in a 05 Monaco Cayman DP 36 PDQ
Traveled many years in NuWa Hitchhiker 5th wheels.

I am a carp fisherman myself. I gave up on trout, bass, crappie, salmon etc after to many days catching mosquito bites and loosing lures. Carp will come to you for a ball of oatmeal, they are bigger than most other fish and fight pretty hard, PLUS I never could get a fly fishing rod and line to work. 🙂

They are all typical two lane secondary, passable roads and have almost no traffic (watch for livestock on the road through the reservation) but for scenery and someplace worth seeing I would also recommend 117 through the El Malpais. Quemado Lake has some trout fishing and RV camp sites if you have the time to stop.
. Queamado lake is on my bucket list. I have trout fished many times and the big pines are peaceful . There is free R v parking at gleanwood n m that is on 180 close to mogollon moutains.

All doable roads, we have crossed them many times pulling a 38ft 5th wheel headed for Farmington and on up to Silverton, CO.

There is nothing out but the Indian capital of the world. Queamado has fuel. I would stay off of 36 and 602 it was 666 worse road in the country for accidents . 117 would be my choose there is a national park el Malpie pretty nice we call the narrows . ToI 40 w to grants. It's been awhile since I was on fence lake to Zuni road and it was bad nothing there.
