Good day all,

Wife and I are starting our planning for a trip to Oregon. Never been there so looking for some advice. 23ft class C, just the 2 of us. We were thinking about the following route:

Colorado Springs - Portland, Oregon via Boise, Idaho
Portland - Cannon Beach
Cannon Beach - south on Hwy 101 (towards Sacramento)
Sacramento - Colorado Springs

Mainly looking for camping areas along 101 from Cannon Beach south. Prefer small campgrounds, state parks, quite areas, KOAs. Don't necessary need/want RV resorts, I'm to cheap for that, lol.

Also looking for any must sees along 101. I assume that our rig will be fine along Hwy 101 in that area. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

At Cannon beach you will miss a LOT. Instead, head north on I5 to Longview/Kelso exit and follow the signs back across the river taking US30 to Astoria. Start at Ft Stevens State Park. Be aware, coast parks fill up FAST, infact it may already be too late. Working your way south is the only way to enjoy the scenery. Any of the state parks you can get reservations in will be great. Also private parks like Sea and Sand, Salmon Harbor at Winchester bay are also good places.

We really enjoyed Fort Steven and its CG. Super nice all paved CG and biking/hiking trails along with great history and even tours of the undreground stuff.
