Overnight park US-2 W. Iron Mountain

Any recommendations on overnight stopping points along US-2, west of Iron Mountain for a truck + trailer combo?

Looking for parking that's friendly to an overnight park, not camping or any amenities.

Planning on heading to Wisconsin / Minnesota around M-Day since Michigan will be closed for the holiday.

Just west of Watersmeet is the Sylvian Wilderness area. There is a campground there, but I don't recall if there is electric. It's beautiful back in there.

There is a private CG on Golden Lake called Golden Dreams CG. There appears to be a CG in Iron River called Klint Stafford Memorial Park.

BTW, our governor is doing a great job of trying to keep us all safe. The slight inconveniences are minor.

PS: You might want to check out whether the casino in Watersmeet allows overnight RV stays.

Check out Elks lodges too, if you're a member....most lodges are closed but not their facilities...Dennis

The USFS may close a forest upon its own decision and USFS may close a forest at the request of a state governor, but no federal agency need comply with a state’s directive to close anything absent Congressional approval.

It's been mentioned that school parking lots might be an option.

Guess I missed that important detail!

Iron Mountain is about 8 hrs from my location in Michigan, so looking to park overnight on my way to Ashland WI and then Minnesota.

Those city parks may still be closed due to my overzealous governor, she even closed the National Forests in the UP.

There's a Walmart I guess, if nothing else.
