We will be traveling eastbound on the PA turnpike with a 31ft. Class C towing a jeep. Is Route 30 a doable route from Breezewood or would it be better to take RT. 15 and then head south to Gettysburg. Thanks for the help.

Take US 15. Having lived and worked in Chambersburg for 50 plus years, yeh, it is doable, but not worth it. Two lane mountain road for the most part, Chambersburg is PITA to get thru, and US 30 to Gettysburg isn't much better. Pay the toll on the Pike and it will be worth it.

30 Breezewood is fun in a car, but I wouldn't want to do it with a rig like yours.

I don't like towing on 30 to Breezewood at all. Traffic will definitely get you in Chambersburg. From PA route 997 to Gettysburg won't be bad at all and South Mountain may or may not give you a problem. The turnpike to U.S. 15 South is your best bet.

I'd not do it. The hills are somewhat steep and sharp curves. Out of Breezewood it's up a mountain then down then up, etc, etc. Repeat the whole way until about 10-20 miles west of Chambersburg. Traffic can get bad through Chambersburg to Gettysburg.

Best bet would be Turnpike to Rt 15 and down 15. Pretty straight shot.

You could also do I70 East and then get Rt 15 and come from the South. More time but no tolls.

If you want to drive over mountains and then sit in traffic for a while take Rt 30. If you want to get there quickly take Rt 15. Personally, I would take Rt 15.
