Planning a trip to Wyoming, route question

Hi, I will be towing a 20 ft TT up to Wyoming. I've never towed something this large and would like to avoid cities if I could.
My route can either take me to Salt LAke City (15--215--80--189)or I can get off at Provo and take 189 across the mountain. Headed for Alpine, Wy.

I guess it is a question of Traffic or Grades. Anyone with experience in this area.

Thanks
Curly

Technically, I-84 does not go to Pocatello, but connects to I-86, which does. From there, Texas Shadow is correct, US 26 from Idaho Falls east to Alpine. (A very pretty ride, BTW.)

go up to Las Vegas and I 15.. then get off onto 93 north through NV into ID
go to I 84 and then take it to Pocatello and I 15 up to Idaho Falls and then 26 over to Alpine.
This is more miles, but no big cities after Las Vegas which is a piece of cake compared to most.

You may be better off sticking it out through SLC. Take 215 around the city if you prefer, and avoid rush hour; that may help some, though 15 and 215 are about as crowded as each other these days. Good suggestion about Mountain Directory West.

Get a copy of Mountain Directory West to help you decide. I would stick to interstates as much as possible to avoid grades.
