The lovely walk around back and down the front of Old Fort hill 5 minutes from Jasper town takes an hour, about the same time DWs take to look in the souvenir shops.

Kids of all ages love wading in Talbut Lake sand dunes about 20 minutes east of Jasper town. Nice for kayaks and canoes, too. Going east, when you are beside the very big Jasper Lake on the north side, watch for the smaller Talbot Lake on the right and turn into the paved parking. Great view of Roche Miette in the distance. It is possible to walk (scramble near the top) of Roche Miette but it takes a full day. Wonderful view all the way!

On your way to Takakkaw Falls, be sure to stop at the highway overlook for the Spiral Tunnels of the Canadian Pacific Railroad. The signs tell you about the railroad history of Kicking Horse Pass and you can watch a couple of trains circle through the tunnels. You can spend as much or as little time as you want and it's fascinating, even for kids!

We also enjoyed our hike up to Johnston Canyon falls, although they don't start to compare to Takakkaw Falls.

Almost forgot: don't miss Maligne Canyon while on your way to Maligne Lake. It is a narrow, slot canyon carved into limestone bedrock with many waterfalls along its relatively short length. You won't see anything else like it on your trip.

Yes - you will be busy. One suggestion ( if you don't already have it figured out ) buy annual Park passes for all in your party. The break even point in Canadian national Parks is 6 days. The pass is good for better than one year and is good in ALL Canadian national Parks.
Nit picking - your spelling of several places is off - Peyto Lake, Takkakaw Falls, Lake Moraine.
Enjoy it all

One thing to bear in mind. You will practically drive past, Lake Louise Peyto Lake, Bow Lake,Athabasca Glacier, Athabasca Falls and Sunwapta Falls when you drive from Banff to Jasper.

You may find it better to spend one less night at Banff and stay at Kicking Horse (near to Takakaw Falls and Emerald Lake (Yoho NP) giving you time to see all the places en-route between Banff and Jasper.
