Traveling on 84 from Danbury to Mass Pike, do I stay on 84 thru Hartford or go 691-91-84. Traveling with 37' FW. It will be mid morning on a weekday, after rush hour.
Thanks

Can do either way...the 691 to 91 to 84.....has a steep pull up Southington hill from the entrance onto 91 and then the traffic and the exit from 91 to 84 can be backed up anytime during the day...I find taking 84 straight thru is shorter in miles and in duration and also less aggrevating....but again I lived in Conn all my life...Chuck

Thanks for all the info. We will be going up that way to Maine in a few weeks.

That is the way to go. 84 in Hartford is all sharp corners and left hand off and on ramps.

Just 'cuz it's not during "rush hour" don't count on smooth sailing! Between traffic and construction, I seem to get stuck any time I'm on that stretch of road!!! Better luck to you! and yes, 691 is your preferred route...

84 691 91 84 will keep you out of the heart of down town where it zigs and zags thru Hartford. Been through there many times and the last few years that's the way I prefer.
