Looking for a route as the title says. Want to avoid the New York area for example the GW bridge. Anyone with a route they used would be helpful. Class A with a flat tow. Thanks in advance.

Going up to Newburg is only a few minutes longer even though it adds
about 50 miles to the trip. And it postpones the stress til Hartford, if the
Traffic is heavy.

If you have lots of time to spare, you could always go further west and north and head up to I-476 / I-81 / I-88 / I-87 and go east across US4 and / or US2. It would be maybe 150 miles and a few hours longer, but pretty and fairly free of major traffic congestion once you get past Scranton. I think the only tolls would be crossing the Delaware River.

Do NOT take the GWB with a TT. Go across the Tappen Zee or the Newburgh bridge.

Also try to hit those areas before 6AM or after 9PM There's nothing more miserable than driving a rig in rush hour traffic. I did this trip 3? months ago and hit the road at 4AM. I was across the Hudson by 6AM - it was a pleasant and uneventful trip.

I-295 or I-95 to the GSP. I did the GSP on a Sunday and it was a decent ride. Alternately you could take the I-287 ring.

From here you have a choice.

1. Tappan Zee Bridge to I-684 to I-84 to I-90 (Mass Pike) or
2. I-87 to I-84 across the Newburg Bridge to I-90

The TZ Bridge is under construction and usually has a lot of traffic, so I'd opt for #2. Depends on the time of day.

From I-90, take I-290 to I-495 to I-95. Stay on I-95 all the way to Bangor then 1A and 3 south to BH. Alternately, you could take I-295 in Brunswick and pick up Route 1 to BH. Only take this if you have a lot of time.
