Hello, My gps has me going 81so to I-40w to tn66s to the parkway then it said to make a U turn ??? to rv park entrance (river Plantation) on right.. CAN I MAKE A U TURN ON THAT PARKWAY??? I am not familar with the area. thanks.....paul

I81 can be a problem near Christiansburg MM138 to about MM 118 construction allow extra time....... both directions ...... Rolling roadblocks for blasting last Tues....... VDOT 511 phone & internet can help keep you informed

ok all....no u turn needed! thanks all, my garmin is old so i will blame it. Backed up on 81s today and lost time so lake view in Bristol is next stop. thanks paul

No u-turn needed, you can make a left hand turn from the parkway to the entrance to RP. Only thing to remember is stay in the left lane once you get off the interstate. There is a strange intersection where all 3 lanes turn right and shortly after that you are going to need to make the turn into RP. I have seen many people get stuck in the right lane trying to make it across 3 lanes of traffic to turn in there.

If it were me I would take 40w and get off at the 407 exit (tn66) like the GPS says. They have widened the road to 6 lanes from the exit almost all the way to the entrance to RP and traffic is a non issue now.

You do not have to make a u-turn. There is a left turn entrance into River Plantation. You can see it on Google Maps satellite. Don't know why the maps do that.

I don't know how much room it takes to make a U with a class A & toad, but I could make one on that road with the pickup & 5'th wheel. More to your problem Google Earth shows you only having to make a left, no U turn

TPUC, Thanks for the heads up re. trafic. I will use your way but it says do a U turn and the park is on the right?? Can i do a u turn class a with jeep toad ? Is your way in without a u turn. ? paul

Just my 2 cents. I would ditch the GPS and take I81 to I 40 EAST to exit 432. Take Hwy 411 to Sevierville. You will miss a boat load of traffic. It will be just a few miles father but I think it will be a quicker drive as you wont be in bumper to bumper traffic.
