We will be taking a trip to Florida in March from Mass, but we need

to stop in Atlanta GA. We will have our 5/th w tr. It looks like Rt 81

is about the most direct Rt. Has anyone used that Rt. an is it ok to

travel with our 36' 5th/W.

Spot on!! Flying J's in Scranton, just below Harrisburgh, Winchester & Wythville VA. PA is 232 miles top to bottom, VA is 324 I think. 84 west to 380 west to 81 south.

81 is a well used trucker's route. Some hills, but your diesel should handle it with ease. I've traveled 81 from I66 for years pulling a boat with only one incident when a trucker tried to run me off the road when I was passing to his left. Before you go, google map the fueling stops for big rigs as some fueling area may be too tight to squeeze in your rig. There is quite a few Truck/RV stops so it is best to look for them. Everything is off the highway and out of sight.

I-81 will certainly be a more trouble free route than I-95

North of I78 is a little rough for me but south of that it's an easy drive.
