Trying to find propane in NY / NJ area

Hi all,

We're traveling from Rhinebeck, NY to Jersey City, NJ via I87, I287 and I78 tomorrow and are getting desperate to find a place to buy some propane. We are in a motor home, so detaching the tank and carrying it to a fill location is not an option.

Being from the west coast, we're surprised at how much trouble we're having finding propane refill locations -- we've tried Pilot and TA but they don't seem to have this on hand, as is common on the west coast.

Can someone please give us some suggestions on where to get our tanks refilled?

gas stations, home depot, lowes, rental places, tractor supply,some supermarkets--really not hard to find.

Many of your local campgrounds can offer you propane.

Most RV dealers and many campgrounds will sell you propane. Just check along your route for these, call ahead, and plan a stop. There is no Camping World long your route near NJ- the closest in NJ would be nearer to Atlantic City. The Camping World in Kingston, NY is the only one.

Call the local RV dealers and ask them. Some dealers sell LP, but I suspect all them know where to get it.

We stayed at a KOA in the Poughkeepsie a couple of weeks ago, and they sold propane. Not too far off of 87.
