Walmart parking lot in Homestead FL?

How open is the parking area there? We have been in a few Walmarts that are snug for getting in and out. Does it have a stop light? Thanks!

The parking lot was fine last Tuesday. But pulling a 36 footer, I found the entrance and exit a bit of a pain.

Don't attempt to get fuel. The Race Trac at US 1 and 997 is a much better stop.

Though if you can drop the rig and come back a few miles, the Walmart is easier to negotiate.

We aren't looking to stay, just whether to buy groceries etc. with the fiver or return the 20 miles later without it...

It's pretty easy to get in and out of. Follow Triker's direction and you won't have any problem

Coming south on US 1 there is a stop light to make a left hand turn. First light after Home Depot on the left.

Going US 1 north no light at right turn at the car wash. If you miss that turn then at the light turn right.

Coming south on Turnpike take the US 1 North exit. Turn right at light and in less then 600 ft turn right pass the car wash.

OP didn't ask about overnight parking. Just parking size.
And the Walmart is in Florida City. The Homestead one is just a Neighborhood Market grocery and is not good for pulling a RV into the small lot.

Probably true in south Florida and maybe the Orlando area but certainly not true in North Florida and the FL Panhandle. I see people parked in our local Walmarts all the time.

I would not overnight at the Florida City Walmart. It's the only Walmart I've ever seen with armed guards at the entrances.

According to the walmart site (link below), the Walmart at 13600 SW 288th St in Homestead does not allow overnight parking. Looked at RVParky and they same the same thing. Looking at the list on the Walmart site, doesn't look like too many Walmarts in Florida allow overnight parking

The Walmart located at Dixie Hwy(US-1) and NE 15th St. is easy in and out.
The Walmart farther south near Florida City is maze to get in and out depending on direction of travel.

I would suggest that you take a look at google maps and see for yourself.

The Homestead Walmart does not permit overnight RV parking. I don't know how current this list is, but this link goes to a list of those Florida Walmarts that do NOT allow overnight parking, most due to local laws. As I recall though, the parking lot is fairly large with a traffic light at the intersection near the entries and exits.
