Ditto on this one. Interesting to see Shark Valley entrance to Everglades. Near the Mickosookee (sorry on Spelling) center.

I hate I-75 !! I only drive I-75 when there is a gun to my head !

AS mentioned above I will also say if you have time take the drive on 41 across the state. Very pretty drive through the Everglades with many areas to pullover and take in some scenery.

I-75 is quicker, but lacks character.

Not sure it is the best/fastest but if you drop down to US 41 at MM 55 is a large RV friendly rest area with more alligators within camera range than any other place I know of.
It's only a 2-lane road so if you already have had your fill of alligators and are in a hurry stay on I-75.

The simplest way would be I-75 to Turnpike to US-1 in Florida City. We always take I-75 to exit 101, 951 to US-41, US-41 to 997 (Krome Ave) 997 ends at US-1 in Florida City. Its shorter, less traffic, no tolls, and much more scenic. They were putting in a bridge on 41 just west of 997 and traffic was down to 1 lane, but I read it was completed.
