Well tomorrow morning we head west for about a 6 week trip. Leaving middle Tennessee headed up through St Louis and then out through Kansas. Probably be going through Colorado and on to Salt Lake City to visit my daughter there. After we leave there after a week or so we have 2 or 3 weeks to get to Santa Barbara, Ca for a family wedding. After that we are not sure which way we will head. After I leave Salt Lake City I will probably stop at Bryce Canyon and some of the other spots in Utah on the way to Santa Barbara. After Santa Barbara we are thinking about going north through San Francisco and on to northern Cal. and see some of the sights up that way. If we have time we may swing up through Oregon and then maybe back through Yellowstone on the way back east.

We are open for suggestion on where to go and what to do out west. We need to be back in Tennesse by the middle of September. As you see we have no definite plans other than being in Santa Barbara on August 22nd

You don't really say, but can we assume you are using I-70 from St. Louis through Kansas to Colorado? If so, do you have any preferences on what you like to see, what kinds of mountain roads you are comfortable traveling, and whether you are equipped to dry camp without hookups? Without that sort of info, it is pretty hard to suggest a route or places you might like.

Went through and stayed at Nashville then on to Saint Louis on the return leg of our trip this year. Some of things that come to mind are.
If you are going to go up to Saint Louis then over the RV park at Casino Queen has a shuttle that will take you to the Metro Link Station that you can take to see lots of St Louis.
If you want to take I 40 from Nashville would recommend Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. A great park for overnight in Oklahoma is the El Reno West KOA.
Just south of Amarillo is Palo Duro Canyon State Park with a road and campgrounds down in the second largest canyon in the US.
From there to Durango CO take in the train and Mesa Verde. From there to Salt Lake either through the Black Canyon of the Gunnison or Arches National Park Utah

No advice on where to go and what to see, but found it rather coincidental that we, too, are leaving tomorrow (from Nashville) on a month-long trip out west as well. We're taking a little different route, ourselves, since we are visiting family in north Texas and friends in Colorado on the way out.

Have a safe trip!
