About 11 yrs ago we spent 15 months on the road in our RV. We had a membership in a club that gave us 1/2 price camping most places. I can't remember the name of the club, but passport USA sticks in my mind--Ring a bell with anyone?

And also--We will leave central WI in the fall and travel to Palacios TX, via St Louis and Memphis--Any must sees? Or really good places to stop for a few days?

I recently signed back up with Passport America as it does not take very long for it to pay for itself, but not in Florida in the winter. I was playing on their web site and discovered a neat feature. After picking a CG at your destination you have the option for trip routing to/from the CG. Then you have a check box for PA CGs along your route. In the summer if you need AC at night a PA CG is not any more expensive than running your generator.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

If you spend any time in St Louis, you may want to visit Grant's Farm and also the Anheuser Busch brewery. Both are free, but reservations might be needed.

If you have never visited 'House on the Rock', it would be on my list. There's a great state park nearby to stay at - Governor Dodge State Park.

If you drive down I-55 you could stop at the Lincoln Museum and other historic Route 66 places like the Cozy Dog Inn. Stay at the Double J Campground.
