Border crossings

Anyone know how this shut down is affecting Canadians crossing into ststes.

Crossed at Sumas, WA today. Very quick. Very friendly. (This guy was MUCH friendlier than MOST.) 🙂

Flowing as usual, or until the Border agents need to take their federal government IOUs (which is the current method of paying the Border agents) to the grocery store or the gasoline station. Maybe the local supermarket and fuel station will be understanding and accept the government’s method of payment. I sincerely doubt that will be the case.

I crossed from the USA to Canada 11 am today.
Every thing was flowing as usual as far as I could tell.

We have been told BSP are considered essential services and won't be affected. They could be grumpier than usual though, IOU's don't pay the rent or buy groceries.

Yep....CBP Officers will continue to work, but their pay will be in the form of an IOU from the federal government until such time as this mess gets settled.

P.S. I bet the members of Congress still get greenbacks instead of IOUs!!!!

Border Security personel will continue to operate the border openings. No change there.
