we are looking for a campground in Gulfport or the surrounding area. We will be there about 10 days and would like recommendations. Private campground, state park campground or coe campgrounds are fine. We would like to have 50 amp and water and sewer.

Thanks everybody for your recommendations

Ya, the trouble is using those directions takes you over a steep grade crossing on Nicholson Ave.

This didn't happen at that grade crossing, but they are all steep, and depending on your rig, why chance it? The crossing on Lakeshore is flat. There are at least 50 trains a day going through there. Not much time to think if you get stuck.

Here's the Nicholson Ave crossing. Look at all the scrapes in the road where things have been dragging.

Iโ€™ve made the drive at least a dozen times. Coming from either direction, Lakeshore is the only way Iโ€™d go.

We like Gulf State Park in Alabama. The beach there is so much prettier than Gulfport.

I second Hollywood. I don't have any experience with Cajun.

^^Same here. It's been awhile since we stayed at Hollywood. Only issue I remember was some of the back-ins were on the wrong side...what I call a blind back-up, can't see anything.

X4

Spent several snowbird winters there. One of my all time favorite parks.

+1 for Buccaneer. Just be careful about which route you take from US90 to the coast. There are several steep RR grade crossings that trailers have gotten hung up on. Lakeshore Rd is the flattest. It's the one with signs to the casino.

We stay at Buccaneer State Park, it's not in Gulfport but not too far.
