Campground near Stratford, Ontario?

We will be making the rounds of central Michigan in late August, and considering a side trip to Stratford to take in a few plays. I'm finding it difficult to find a campground that has a reasonably good rating within an hour's drive of Stratford. Anybody have a suggestion to offer? Would much appreciate it.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I'll check them out this morning to see what's possible. Any other recommendation are appreciated. Love this forum. ??

Try Green Acre RV Park (http://www.greenacrepark.com/ ) in Waterloo near St Jacobs, about an hour from Stratford. This park is also situated in Mennonite country where the nearby St Jacobs market is worth a visit as well.

Some of the closer ones are conservation areas with camping. The closest is Wildwood Conservation Area just down the road on Hwy 7. Laurel Creek near Kitchener is a little further East.Ontario Conservation Areas.

The nearest provincial park is the Pinery on Lake Huron. Very nice but busy. Ontario Parks Reservations

Whatever you choose, make sure you make a reservation well in advance especially if you want a weekend.

The Pinery Provincial Park near Grand Bend right on Lake Huron, if you can get in. It's a very special place and books up early in the season
