Well im looking to go camping in november and we live in paso robles, ca. Im looking for a campground that has full hookups (gray water has leak at 2/3 full and have not fixed yet) and has fishing for trout within walking distance. I was thinking three rivers area but I didnt see anything with full hookups. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Sequoia Ranch RV Park in Three Rivers -- Although the river runs through the CG, fishing isn't great on that particular stretch, however there is decent fishing in the area.

Camp Edison @ Shaver Lake. -- good fishing on Shaver, even better if you dive a bit to Courtright, Wishon, Dinkey Creek or Huntingon.

Three Rivers would be much warmer in Nov then highe in the Sierra.

I agree, that is why I love trout. I would go up to shaver lake but I think it will be too cold in November up there.

have you thought about Castaic Lake?
That's probably around 3 hours from you.

My Bad - You said full hookups
Maybe Comanche Reservoir?

I agree most cgs are lousy for fishing. COEs are better. Boon docking lets you find those sweet spots with great fishing.

I would like to boondock myself but that is why I posted this. I cant with my grey water tank leak at the moment and dont have time to get it fixed before this trip.

Sorry you had that experience. I know we are far away, but Kendall Recreation Corps of Engineers park in south central Kentucky has some of the finest fishing in the east. Sits right next to a National Fish Hatchery for trout.

River fishing and lake fishing depending upon which launch ramp you use. Campsites in the shade and long enough to park your RV and your camper.

Much more information on recreation.gov but alas, it is shut down along with our government. Here is a tourism site for more information until Recreation.gov comes back up: Kendall Recreation Aare
