First off, let me say until I made the reservation to stay where I am now I have never heard of this park and have nothing to gain from starting this thread. I was up near the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and thought of revisiting Myrtle Beach.
Only thing is, I called the two major rv parks there and they seemed packed even in late September. For example, out of the almost 900 sites at Ocean Lakes, all they could offer me was a narrow, unpaved site in the back that was maybe a step above storage. Though I like the idea of being somewhat beach adjacent, the thought of being amongst that many other campers just did not float my boat.
So I looked around and found
Brunswick Beaches Camping Resort in Sunset Beach, NC. True, it is not walking distance to the beach, but it is just a short drive to a great beach and pier and unfortunately for the owners the place is practically empty. As a full-timer, I do tire of being packed in with RVs within 12 or so feet on either side, so I am loving the serenity of not having a bunch of people around. Sure, there are not tons of events and other amusements, but as working full-timer not something I look for.
It just seems a shame that such a nice park is sitting here near empty while the places down in Myrtle Beach are packed. While I don't really want someone parking next to me, it just seems like this place has gone unappreciated for what it has to offer. I just wanted to bring it to the forum's attention in case someone was looking for a relaxing, affordable place to come hang out down by the NC coast. Their monthly rate is $525 + utilities.
Come on down and join me! Just not in the site next to me!
๐This shows the monthly lakeside (or "pondside" sites):
This shows the sites "inland" from the pond. There are more further back and to the left that are more shaded if you like that...
This shows a bit of the fishing/duck pond, the playground and tent camping area:
As you will see on their site, they do have a pool and currently you'd have it basically to yourself!
Thought I'd add another pic - this is the Sunset Beach pier:
