We agree that Casper East RV Park is a dump and one person working there was incredibly rude - that individual must have had a chip on their shoulder. I went in to check to see if we could stay longer due to problems with our truck and was promptly told I was being rude and asked to leave the campground now (we had still one night we had paid for left to stay and I was told that if we didn't leave they would call the police!). I told them I wouldn't recommend there campground and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. When I left the office I pulled ahead to where I could turn around and this same person came out screaming that the speed limit was 5 miles per hour. I drove on by and returned to our camper and we started pulling up stakes.
I don't know what happened at the office after that but a different person came to the camper door and my wife answered - I was still fuming - and they handed her a credit for our full stay. That was wonderful but it didn't make up for the fact that the worker was rude and crude.
We were actually glad to leave as it was one of the noisiest campgrounds we have ever stayed. It reeked of crude oil smell, the trains literally ran right next to the campground and blew the whistle through the night. The pictures are very deceiving and the sites are incredibly small.

I don't know if every one is just making a statement or that parking on gravel and permanents is the worst thing in the world. I like level regardless of the medium. I have met some really nice people who were permanent/long term at a camp ground. As for showers I could really care less, I brought mine with me. I never stay anywhere only one night

We stayed at The Rivers Edge campground in Casper, WY on our way up to Teton NP. The showers were big and clean, they even have 2 private showers. There is Smith's RV, close by, if you need anything for your RV. They don't have a lot of available sites, but give Lois a call @ 307-234-0042, she is a nice lady.

The KOA in Casper is horrible! Unfriendly, unappreciative owners. This is a barren, sandy and gravel parking lot with utilities. I left out the hiway noise. If you don't need hookups, try the CG on Casper Mtn just south of town. It is higher in elevation and cooler.

On a recent long trip to Glacier National Park, we stayed at the KOA which is actually at Bar Nunn, north of town as posted above--it was on our route. We had no problem whatsover with our stay there. We would not hesitate to stay there again. It was strictly an overnight for us. And BTW, we do not routinely choose KOA. In fact, quite the opposite. But when one is in the right location relative to our itinerary we will give it a try.

The CG at Fort Casper is all gravel, short, narrow sites and lots of permanents

As previously stated Camp Casper is all gravel and the sites are narrow but is is located right next to Fort Caspar and with Passport America the price is right. It's good for a one night stay if you want to tour the Fort. There is also a nice nature trail next to the campground.

That 9 rating was from a person in a MH that had broken down and had been towed in to the CG.
I think that were just glad to have a place...period.

That CG is a dump.......always was and will probably always be.
At night when the wind changes direction you would think you are right in a refinery from the smell. CG is old, sites are narrow/short and packed in, lots of permanents.

There is NOT much in the way of CGs in Casper.
The KOA is way out on west-end built on a knoll where the wind blows the alkaline dust everywhere. No trees to speak of. Gravel/dirt parking lot basically.
The CG at Fort Casper is all gravel, short, narrow sites and lots of permanents
The newest one out on east-end of town (actually Evansville) is nicest only because it is the newest. Still all gravel sites with outdoor carpet grass area, sites are close & short. And noisy from metal shop right next door

But it's Casper.....
I grew up there. Town has spread out but it's still not much.
Is it time for your medication or mine?
